This ring is very IMPRESSIVE.. The style, the turquoise… Maybe it looks more like a painting than a ring. The extra ordinary colors of the turquoise are brilliant. The blue is so… Turquoise, the matrix is so… It reminds of some oil paintings… And some acrylic paintings as well! The wide, 1/4 sterling silver band all around the stone, is the perfect frame for a scene which could have taken place millions and millions of years ago when the Rockies were underwater. It is a truly spectacular vision so well represented by this KINGMAN turquoise. The stone does not have any cracks. The ring is 3.5 long. It is 2 at the widest. The band in the back is decorated with a Petroglyph style Lizard.. It is 3/4 wide and tappers to 3/8. It WEIGHS 78 GRAMS. The artist WILLIAM DARROW who I met during the famous INDIAN MARKET in SANTA FE was showing the POTTERY he is making now. He made this ring years ago and was showing all what he could rescue from his studio in Louisiana which just go destroyed by the flooding. It seems to be so appropriate..
