Wonderful vintage hand-crafted Native American Navajo ring made of beautiful High Grade Natural Kingman Mine Blue Turquoise Stone heavily saturated with Silver Matrix – surrounded by hand-carved silver scallop, silver leaf, silver bead and a scalloped silver stem border! This exquisite ring has a graduated double silver rail band which merges into one single band. Absolutely Awesome Vintage Piece of Native Craftsmanship! High grade natural Kingman. Is highly collectible because of its intense blue with a black and silver matrix. This superb grade was found in an area called Ithaca Peak, which yielded the highest grade and hardest Kingman turquoise. This vein has been exhausted since 1972. Stone hammers found in the Mohave County, northwest of Kingman, AZ prove that Kingman turquoise was first mined by Native Americans as early as 600 a. Today the mine is owned and operated by Colbaugh Processing. Chuck Colbaugh found the artifacts in May of 1962, and Mr. Colbaugh’s grandson, Marty Colbaugh, operates the mine today. This long time mining family also owns Ithaca Peak Turquoise mine, and the Turquoise Mountain mine. Kingman turquoise sets an industry standard for blue matrix turquoise. The mine became famous for its nuggets, which few mines produce. Today, the Kingman turquoise is highly prized and sought after by collectors everywhere, and it’s one of the more easily recognized American Turquoises. Sterling and the initial “T”.
