I asked my mother, parents were traders in Tuba City where I grew up, she laughed, Those weren’t made for sale or fame, those were made as a gift from one family to another. Some of the pieces were traded for pinions, some pawned, some were acquired from dealers in Blanding, Bluff, Gallup, Window Rock, all over the Navajo res. My mother is full blooded Navajo and my father was a cowboy, go figure. Lost him 5 years ago and we’re finally going through storage. Concho belts, fetish necklaces, squash blossoms, Spiderweb turquoise, Red Coral necklaces, Kingman turquoise, Morenci turquoise earrings with handmade hooks, sterling silver ball necklaces with inlay pendents, old pawn packed with sawdust. So much I haven’t listed. Some of these pieces had me in awe. Sorry, wanted to say something about trademarks, all my items are as described.
