This listing is for a vintage Navajo Squash Blossom Necklace, handcrafted from sterling silver and Natural Turquoise. This is a higher quality squash than average and price is firm. NOTE: Please view all 24 photos. Last 5 photos show necklace on a 5 foot 8 inch tall, size 4 model/mannequin. This Navajo squash is a gorgeous vintage necklace made to impress! It’s beautifully crafted at a higher level of craftsmanship and weighs in at a hearty 200 grams. The stones have minimal matrixes and a satin polished finish while portraying soft color hues of green and blue. The stones are in excellent condition while resting securely in their bezels. Each stone is surrounded by beautiful silver work of droplets and curled leaf appliqués that create a shadowbox effect. The 10 blossoms carry unique petals made with thick heavy gauge silver, making them strong and solid. The pearls are in excellent shape and strung on a braided foxtail chain with a hook and eye clasp at each end. The back of the Naja has a unique stamping of 4 numbers (1911). This is not the year the squash was crafted. We aren’t really sure what this number stands for but, the Artist’s signature follows afterwards in the form of stamped initials J. For Navajo Artist Johnnie Frank. When searching the Artist’s name we found he stamped 1911 in several other pieces when signing his work. Additionally, two more initials are stamped and read JC.. Probably a previous owner’s initials. There is no sterling stamp which is common for vintage Navajo jewelry. The silver was tested and we guarantee its purity of. Naja Measurements – The Naja measures 3-3/4″ tall by just under 3-1/2″ wide (3-7/16). Blossom Measurements – The 10 blossoms slightly graduate in size with the largest measuring 1-3/4″ long by 1″ wide and the smallest measuring just under 1-3/4″ long by 7/8″ wide.
