Royston Turquoise Sterling Silver Brooch Pin Native American Navajo Harry Morgan
Harry Morgan, the Famous Navajo artist, teacher of his Navajo jewelry making skills and old style revivalist of old Navajo artistry skills to the younger generation of artists, created this beautiful Dragonfly brooch-pin. Royston Turquoise, as pretty as this excellent specimen, was chosen by Harry, I’m sure the Royston cabochon stone “spoke to Harry” as if to say; Make me into a beautiful Dragonfly brooch. Created, signed-stamped H Morgan and Sterling, by master craftsman Navajo Artist, Harry Morgan, who was a well skilled and precise and detailed Native American Navajo artist. Harry invented the look of old silver patina jewelry, most often referred to as the Old-Pawn Look, which is new Sterling silver given a finish that resembles silver that hasn’t been polished in a while and has acquired that natural patina of untouched jewelry. Harry is credited as the main Navajo artist responsible for the revival of the old, traditional jewelry styles from the past 70 years which are popular again today. Harry’s sons are Jacob and Kelly Morgan, his step-son is Greg Pat, and his brother-in-law was famous artist, Kirk Smith, and his brother is Henry Morgan.
