Absolutely stunning vintage genuine turquoise and sterling silver necklace, signed by Sue George, Navajo. Incredible workmanship in a very unique style. Large oval pendant in a 2-part dangle setting, two feathers on the outer frame create an open shadowbox or rounded naja effect to showcase the amazing turquoise stone. I believe this is Number 8 turquoise, though I have no way of verifying the exact mine it came from. I showed many photos so you can decide for yourself. The turquoise cabochon has a nicely polished finish in a very aesthetically pleasing rounded pear or egg shaped oval with a beautiful golden brown matrix. Turquoise gemstone measures approx. 26 x 20mm, pendant measures approx. 2 1/8″ x 1 5/8″. I can guarantee that it is natural, genuine turquoise. Beautiful hand stamping details. All sterling silver approx. 6mm round bench beads (Navajo pearls) and 6mm x 12.5mm melon beads. Necklace measures approximately 20 1/4 end to end. Please see photo shown with a ruler for size reference. On my kitchen scale it weighs 40 grams which might not be as perfectly calibrated as a jeweler’s scale but it gives you a good idea. Getting harder to find these coveted and collectible vintage Native American pieces. This style is so timeless and versatile and can be worn. A very worthy investment! The necklace is in excellent pre-owned or vintage condition with some light tarnish (can be polished of course) as you would expect with genuine sterling.
