This listing features a vintage Navajo squash blossom necklace handcrafted from Sterling Silver and Natural Turquoise. Note: Last 2 photos show necklace modeled, be sure to see all 23 photos. This authentic Navajo necklace was handcrafted by a skilled Silversmith during the mid century. It features a classic squash design using old natural Turquoise and Sterling Silver. It’s a large statement piece made at a higher level of craftsmanship with intricate silver work surrounding each stone. Being made with a heavy gauge silver, the necklace has a sturdy weight of 240 grams. The stones portray color hues ranging from greenish blue too hunter green with heavy brown matrixes and a polished finish. The stones protrude from their bezels while resting secure with no damage. They’re in wonderful vintage condition. The 12 blossoms have long triple fluted petals, all of which are in great shape. They’re strong solid petals and can’t be bent out of shape easily. All of the original pearls are strung on a braided foxtail chain with a hook and eye clasp at each end. There is no sterling stamp which is very common of the era however, testing proves the silver to be. The Artist’s signature is etched in script on the back of the Naja. It’s hard to make out but, the last name is Charley. This old squash will be a great addition to any vintage collection. Cherish and enjoy before handing it down to a loved one in the future. Weight – 240 Grams. Length – The length measures 25 from end to end. Naja Measurements – The Naja measures just under 3-1/2″ tall by 3-5/8″ wide. Blossom Measurements – The 12 blossoms are more or less the same size measuring approximately 2-1/4″ long by just under 1″ wide. The beds of silver alone measure about 1-3/8″ long while the petals measure about 7/8″ long. Pearls/Bench Beads Measurements – The pearls have a diameter/width of 5/16. Stamped Sterling – NO, tested and verified. Signed by Artist – YES, etched in script by an unidentified Navajo Artist with the last name of Charley. Mid Century, 1950’s +. Condition – Preowned, in excellent vintage condition with all of its original stones and a naturally aged patina, ready to wear or display. I treat every item as if it were my own.
