This listing is for a vintage Navajo belt buckle handcrafted from Sterling Silver and Turquoise. PLEASE VIEW ALL 20 PHOTOS. This vintage belt buckle is in mint condition featuring gorgeous turquoise inlays covering a slightly curved bed of solid sterling silver. The inlays are in excellent condition while resting flush between thick silver channels. They portray bright blue colors with patches of yellowish and tan matrixes.. REALLY nice color qualities in these inlays! The surface of the inlays is slightly textured giving them more of a vintage organic look. The design is simple and has the perfect (and practical) size for daily wear. The back of the buckle has a sturdy belt and hole keeper in perfect working condition. There is no sterling stamp which is common in vintage Navajo pieces however, the Artist’s signature is present in the form of several stamps. It appears to be the initials of the Artist, along with a picto hallmark with numbers stamped just below. After researching the stamps I wasn’t able to identify the Artist. Weight – 68 Grams. Size – The buckle measures just over 3″ wide by just a hair under 2-1/4″ tall. Inlay Measurements – The 12 inlays all measure 1″ long and slightly vary from about 3/8″ wide to 7/16 wide. The silver channels resting between the inlays and surrounding the outer edge of the buckle measures about 1/8 wide or just over. Belt Keeper Measurements – The inside width of the belt keeper measures just a hair over 1-3/4″ and will fit a belt up to 1-3/4″ wide. Signed By Artist – YES, stamped with a picto hallmark of a Native American face profile along with initials HC and numbers, “1 25″. Stamped Sterling – NO, tested and verified. Later-Mid Century, 1970’s+. Condition – Preowned, in excellent vintage condition, with original inlays and a slightly aged patina, ready to wear or display. I treat every item as if it were my own.
