Joining this week’s listings is this great vintage handmade sterling silver and turquoise Navajo squash blossom necklace! This is a nice older piece with a simpler style about it, very wearable. Every enthusiast of Navajo silver jewelry should have one at least! The necklace is 24″; the naja is about 1 1/2″ across; the “blossoms” are all about 1 long. The beads graduate from about 7 mm to 4 mm in diameter. The necklace is not signed or hallmarked but all the parts test as sterling silver. The stone is securely set. The necklace is strung on wire, with the usual hook-and-eye closure; it looks like this was re-strung at some point and someone added a few different beads (the 5 closest to the terminals on each side) to increase the length a bit; those 10 beads don’t appear to be hand made but they are sterling silver. It weighs 64.6 grams. The item “Vtg. Navajo Squash Blossom Necklace-Sterling Silver & Turquoise-Southwest Native” is in sale since Monday, August 08, 2016.
