The turquoise and sterling silver medallion are a superb representation of the Navajo Jewelry Art and Tradition… The Chavez have been making jewelry for decades and decades. Their jewelry is INIMITABLE. The medallion is 4.5″ wide/high and 2.6″ long. It is a sublime piece. All in twirls, curls and curves. All around the flying hummingbird coming to his nest, wings flapping, his arched body following the curves of the nest, an impressive turquoise in 3D, fabulous green turquoise rock. All the turquoise are stunning. They are in the green tones, intense, magical a little mysterious greens. Their shapes is as extraordinary as their colors, circling the nest. Then prolonging the open wings, looking like they are about to fly away… It is a sublime dance of turquoise in extraordinary vivid green and earthy matrix. As precious as the little hummingbird… The color combination – green, black, silver – and the combination of materials – natural stone, polished sterling and brut leather- make for an OUTSTANDING piece. The leather band is IDEAL for the medallion. It is an ultra SUPPLE and ultra SOFT leather with a smooth feel on the skin. It is a high quality sheep leather. A shiny leather with a lot of texture which seems to follow the movements of the bird… And shows off the dance marvelously. The leather band is between 2″ and 3.5″ wide. Its individual shape is adapted to the medallion, wider in the middle… And to the wrist, tapered on the sides.. Furthermore it does not take 10 people or a fight to close it. It is ultra simple with the round “bead”. The 2 holes in the leather band are placed at 6.5″ and 7.5″ to fit a small wrist, around 5 3/4, and a medium wrist. Custom length leather bands can be made upon request. Because the sterling silver and turquoise medallion is a unique piece of jewelry all by itself, it CAN EASILY BE REMOVED..
