Vintage Navajo Native American Cuff Bracelet 7 (for flat wrist). This is a beautiful traditional style Native American bracelet has 41 stones and is likely from the 60’s or 70’s. It came from my Mom’s Native American jewelry store that she had starting in the early 70’s and closed in the early 80’s. She bought this piece and put it away in a back room. It never saw the display, nor was it ever worn. We found out later that she hoarded a lot of the nicer pieces. I did a hot needle test with the needle glowing red and it did not penetrate the turquoise at all. This has a W over an S on the back with a sterling stamp. The circular area on the top of the bracelet measures 2 1/2 long x 2 1/2 wide. THIS CUFF IS FOR A FLAT WRIST. Cuff Length: 5 3/4. Total Wrist Size: 7. 50 grams, Sterling Silver. All silver has been tested with a magnet and ice – the only two tests I know for determining Sterling Silver without purchasing an expensive instrument and, I feel is more accurate. Ice melts incredibly fast with solid sterling versus sterling plated, nickel silver, or other metals. Silver coating or silver with high levels of other materials will be attracted to a magnet. Any turquoise that I may question as block turquoise, I will test using a hot needle in a non-invasive location and will note the test. I don’t know any other way to test turquoise. Again, please use your best judgement. I can only go off of what I learned from my father, who did repairs on Native American jewelry.
