We may not always be available on weekends and/or holidays, but we will respond to your message, in the order it was received, when we return to the office. Southwestern Native American Indian turquoise sterling silver pendant, stamped STERLING, and signed by Navajo artist ROIE JAQUE. Roie was raised in the Navajo culture as his father was Navajo, but his background is also Pueblo of Laguna Acoma from his mother, and Chiricahua Apache from his paternal grandfather. Roie joined the Navajo tribe in Window Rock, Arizona. He speaks, reads, and writes in Navajo language, which is only spoken by about 150,000 Natives. Roie graduated from high school and attended college in New Mexico and Arizona. He learned the art of silversmithing at a young age and have been making jewelry for over 45 years. He owns sheep and used the raw material to learn how to weave rugs from scratch. His late mother, Alice Raphealito, was a master weaver, and well-known for her weave-work. This beautiful pendant was forged at Roie’s’ workbench. It showcases a striking stone set in a smooth bezel wrapped in twisted wire, framed by a filed, carinated border, and adorned on top by an intricate flower and two raised leaves. The nicely polished cabochon is 1 9/16″ tall by 1 1/4″ wide, from bezel to bezel. This piece weighs almost 28 grams, it’s about 3″ tall, including the 7/8″ loop and bale, by 1 1/2 wide, at its widest. The stamped bale can accommodate beads up to 5/16, and very thick chains. Unique stone and exceptional silver work. Thank you for supporting authentic Native American art. All measurements are approximations. Please measure your wrist, decolletage, finger, and waist, or use an old bracelet, necklace, bolo tie, belt, and so on, to determine your size.
